1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Net Life Value ("the Service", netlifevalue.com), operated by REAUMUR SAS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use this Service. The Service is not directed to children under 13 (in compliance with COPPA).

3. Description of the Service

Net Life Value is a free, read-only relocation decision tool that compares 36 countries and 38 cities across taxes, cost of living, quality of life, and accessibility. It computes a single "Net Life Value" score from official data sources. The Service is provided free of charge. We do not offer paid subscriptions, premium features, or in-app purchases.

4. No financial, tax, immigration, or legal advice

Net Life Value provides educational and informational content only. Nothing on this site constitutes:

• Financial advice or an investment recommendation
• Tax advice or a tax filing recommendation
• Immigration or visa advice
• Legal counsel of any kind

Tax calculations are simplified and may not account for deductions, credits, treaties, family situations, or jurisdiction-specific rules. Cost-of-living and quality-of-life scores are estimates from official aggregated data. Always consult a qualified professional (tax advisor, accountant, immigration lawyer, financial planner) before making relocation decisions. You are solely responsible for your financial, tax, immigration, and legal decisions.

5. Data accuracy & updates

We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep data current and accurate, sourcing from World Bank, WHO, OECD, UNODC, ITU, Open-Meteo, and 30+ government tax authorities. Tax brackets are updated annually after each fiscal year change; quality-of-life metrics are refreshed quarterly. Despite our efforts, data may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Use at your own risk.

6. Intellectual property

The site design, code, NLV formula, methodology, editorial content, and brand are the exclusive property of REAUMUR SAS. The underlying data (tax brackets, official statistics) belongs to its respective public-domain or licensed sources. You may quote short excerpts with attribution, but reproduction or redistribution of substantial portions, scraping of the database, or commercial reuse requires prior written consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) scrape, crawl, or systematically download the Service beyond reasonable manual use; (b) reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying data in bulk; (c) use the Service for illegal purposes; (d) attempt unauthorized access to our systems; (e) impersonate Net Life Value or REAUMUR SAS; (f) interfere with the Service's operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, REAUMUR SAS, its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to financial loss, missed opportunities, tax penalties, immigration delays, or relocation costs — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. Because the Service is free, our total aggregate liability is limited to €0.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or completeness.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless REAUMUR SAS from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Paris, France, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
